Description

Since it is alpha or beta or worse this is more of a heads up..

Using Perian 1.1 Revision: 749

playing MKV via Quicktime works fine. playing the same MKV via frontrow cause only a jumble of frames from the first second of so of the video to be played then the video freezes. Progress bar freezes.. Audio continues normally.

System:

Model Name: MacBook? Pro 15" Memory: 2 GB Running Leopard and latest everything.

attached a zip with 2 samples..

Both are the same video in same spots.

The QuickTime one WORKS. The Front Row one does NOT.

I can confirm the problem and I have a workaround:

Open the prefpane of Perian and uncheck Load external Subtitles

As long as there are no subtitles needed the video shows, but when subtitles should be shown the video turns black. Apperently the problem lies in the loading or showing of the subtitles.

(OSX 10.5.4 + Perian 1.1)

Correction... The workaround only worked on one file another file still suffers from the problem. Also the progressbar doesn't freeze
