Ticket #273 (closed defect: fixed)
Perian Automatic Update inteferes with presentations
|Reported by:||lucabo||Owned by:|
When Perian is installed, and "check updates" is selected in the Perian preference panes, when you run a presentation (in my case with Keynote) and a movie is played, even when it should not use Perian (ie, even if the movie is a straight QuickTime movie encoded with codecs directly supported by QuickTime), Perian starts a search for an update.
If it does not find it (which obviously happens when you are doing a presentation, since in most cases you are out of network), then Perian interrupts the presentation and it doesn't let you continue it until you have "OKed" the dialog message popping up in the Finder. You then have to switch back to the presentation, and the movie is played.
This should not happen. If no update is found, then no update is found, period. Let the other programs do what they are doing and record this message in the Console or somewhere else.
