Description

Installing Perian breaks Firefox Quicktime plugin when used to view certain AVI files, e.g. of type: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 320 x 240, 10.00 fps, video: Motion JPEG, audio: uncompressed PCM (mono, 8000 Hz). Sound plays but video does not. web See sample. These files do display correctly in Safari, and in Firefox w/o Perian.

Here is a sample: http://math.harvard.edu/~ctm/sample.avi

Viewing in Firefox this URL gives a blank screen when Perian is installed. However it views correctly in Firefox when Perian is then uninstalled. (It is necessary to restart Firefox between installations.)
