Unable to install PERIAN on Macbook Pro

downloaded perian, received perian 1.2.1.dmg disk image, received icon in system preferences pane, clicked on it, received perian window, clicked on install perian...would not install received this error message:

ERROR: Extraction of AC3movieimport component failed

Problem is with permissions or something else on your computer, not with Perian.

It's the old copy of Google Video Chat problem. Delete ~/Library/QuickTime? and the install will work.

Was there a ticket about adding auto-repair to the installer?
