Cannot update OR delete perian .. Please help!!!

Description

Hi ... Every time I try to update to 1.2.2 System preferences freezes and I have to do force quit. I tried deleting the preference pane (first by uninstalling perian and THEN removing the pane). When I tried to remove the pane, again it hung up .. please help - thanks!
